Wataniya Bitumen & Oil Refinery

ABOUT

Wataniya Bitumen & Oil Refinery is a Wataniya Group project designed and licensed by Pörner, built as a grass-root installation adjacent to the Samawa Refinery in Iraq. At its core is a Biturox® Bitumen Blowing Unit (BBU) producing premium paving-grade and industrial bitumen to ASTM, BS/EN and international standards, supported by a fully automatic truck-loading system and a dedicated quality-control laboratory.

PLANT & CAPACITY

Bitumen Blowing Unit (BBU): 500,000 MTPA, producing grades 70/60, 70/50, 50/40, 30/20 and 100/80. Cutback Bitumen Unit: 300 MTPD, blending kerosene with 100/80 bitumen for road-infrastructure penetration. Vacuum Distillation Unit (VDU): a new 900,000 MTPA unit under development upstream of the BBU, with related utilities and facilities.

PRODUCTS & DELIVERY

Paving and industrial bitumen grades delivered in new steel drums (220 and 180/150 kg), jumbo bags or flexitank — loaded through a fully automatic truck-loading system.

QUALITY & CERTIFICATIONS

Certified to ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001:2018, with CE marking. The Quality Control Department's laboratory tests all bituminous materials in compliance with international inspection organisations including SGS, GEOCHEM and BV.
