ABOUT

Saman Cement Factory, part of Khairat Al Abar Iraqi Company, is located in Al Muthanna Governorate in southern Iraq. The foundation stone was laid in June 2015, the company was established in July 2017, and the plant entered the Iraqi market in March 2018. Built with advanced technology supplied by Sinoma of China and backed by a USD 295 million investment, the plant produces Sulfate-Resisting Cement and Ordinary Portland Cement to international quality specifications, serving central and southern Iraq through a nationwide network of agents and distributors.

PRODUCTS

Al Saqr Sulphate-Resistant Portland Cement (SRC), CEM I 42.5R – SR3.5, and Al Rafidain Ordinary Portland Cement (OPC), CEM I 42.5R – SR(1) — both supplied in bags and in bulk.

QUALITY & ENVIRONMENT

The factory operates to ISO 9001:2015 (C.O.S.Q.C Iraqi Quality Certification) and ISO 17025:2005 (quality-control laboratory standards), and carries the Iraqi Quality Mark for both sulphate-resistant and ordinary Portland cement. Stack emissions measure 5 mg/m³ — well inside the 30 mg/m³ international limit — and Iraqi engineers and technicians made up 50% of the workforce in 2018, a share that has since increased.
